These Terms of Service apply to all tuition provided by Cognition Tutoring. By registering for tuition, parents or guardians confirm that they have read, understood and agreed to the terms below.
Cognition Tutoring provides GCSE and A Level tuition in Biology and Chemistry. Tuition is delivered either online or at the tutor’s premises in Deal, Kent. Tuition is not provided at students’ homes.
Due to high demand, Cognition Tutoring prioritises students committing to regular weekly tuition for a full term or academic year.
Ad-hoc or non-term tuition is not normally offered and, where considered, availability cannot be guaranteed.
Lessons are offered as one-to-one or small group sessions. When a student commits to a term or academic year, the agreed lesson time is reserved exclusively for that student.
Regular attendance is expected to ensure continuity and academic progress.
Lessons are scheduled in advance.
A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling.
Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice may be charged in full.
Non-attendance without notice are charged in full.
Missed lessons cannot usually be rescheduled.
Fees are agreed as part of the registration process.
For students committing to a term or academic year:
Payment is made via standing order, bank transfer or cash.
Standing order or bank transfer is preferred. This will be invoiced on the 25th day of every month. Payment must be processed within 5 business days.
Cash payments must be made at the start of the agreed payment period. Weekly payments can be made in cash and a receipt will be issued once per month.
For online tuition, students must have access to a suitable device, reliable internet connection and a quiet working environment. Students are expected to join sessions on time. Lessons are not recorded.
Students are expected to behave respectfully and engage appropriately during lessons. Cognition Tutoring reserves the right to suspend or withdraw tuition if behaviour is persistently disruptive or inappropriate.
All tuition is delivered in a professional and supportive manner. For online lessons, parents or guardians are responsible for ensuring a suitable environment. Cognition Tutoring follows safeguarding best practice at all times.
Personal information is collected solely for the purpose of delivering tuition and related communication. Data is stored securely and handled in line with UK data protection regulations. Full details are set out in the Privacy Notice.
While Cognition Tutoring aims to support academic progress and confidence, exam results cannot be guaranteed. Students remain responsible for their own learning and exam performance.
Cognition Tutoring reserves the right to update these Terms of Service. Any significant changes will be communicated in advance.
